          Spring summer 2012 sees D.E&S launching our new collection 'Ivory'. Inspired by the style of the films of director partnership James Merchant and Ismail Ivory which feature classic English style in exotic locations. The most evocative of these films for us is 'A Room With A View' and in part because it is set in Florence, a city we visit often and which is special to us. Some things are just meant to be aren't they? This is exactly how D.E & S felt when we came across the painting of  'Il Tagliapanni (The Tailor)' when we were looking around for shop fittings and interior inspiration when setting up shop originally. Of course, we were hoping to find tables, chairs and hanging units etc but ended up getting off the beaten track and coming across this lovely chap! And what a perfect joy he is! I mean - what could be a better finishing touch to a tailoring department?! The piece itself is estimated to date from 1565-70 and was by celebrated...
